2) Recurring Programmes

2.1)  KEERTHANA GAYANA

          Organised 15“Kanaka  Keerthana” & “Kanaka Gangotri” fests of Keerthana Gaayana (Recital of his compositions) for students, staff at various levels starting from  High school, PU to Post Graduation, including technical education; also for the public of Dakshina Kannada & Udupi under jurisdiction of Mangalore University since 2006

Objectives

1. Motivate involved creativity

2. Orient to social issues

3. Encourage breaking of social barriers using artistic involvement as a medium of    expression

4. Augment community participation

2.2) Kanaka chintana

 Organised 126 lectures under a lecture  series regarding Kanaka’s specific texts for students of PUC, Degree, Post Graduation and the public in collaboration with various colleges of different universities within and outside the State and various public organisations.

Objectives

1.Dissemination of Kanaka’s world view through revisiting each text and issues embedded therein for constructive dialogue and contemporary debates

2.Encourage community involvement for catalyzing social change

 

2.3) Kanaka smrithi

1. Organised special lectures on the historical and cultural context of Kanaka’s works

2.Invoking critical interest in issues of history & historiography with regard to medieval times

3.Raising methodological questions about understanding our effective past

4.Highlighting certain specific issues & their repercussions through time and emphasizing their contemporary significance

1. Organized an International Seminar on “Rethinking Bhakthi” involving formidable, global scholarship- 27th-30th March,2013

2.Organized a National Seminar on “An Analysis of Discourses Surrounding Kanaka” March 9th- 11th, 2010

3. Organized  a Special leture on “What should Bhakthi Movement Be?” Jauvary 8th,2013
