Call for Papers:

About the University: Mangalore University was established in the year 1980, with a campus at Mangalagangothri, about 20 km to the south east of the historic coastal town of Mangalore.  It is a picturesque campus spread over 300 acres.  It has 24 Post-graduate Departments offering 32 courses. 

About the Chemistry Department: 

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1981.  The Department offers three M.Sc. courses in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Organic Chemistry with a total intake of about 75 students.  The Department also offers M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes in Chemistry.  The Thrust areas of research are Coordination Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, Reaction Dynamics, Synthetic and Heterocyclic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Structural Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry.  The Department is funded by DST under the FIST & UGC under SAP Programmes.  The Department has also undertaken many research projects funded by DST, BRNS, UGC, NPCIL and KSCST & E.

The Department has organized two National Seminars during 1997 and 2006, several Workshops and UGC sponsored Refresher Courses and an International Conference on “Frontiers in Chemical Research” during 29-31 December, 2008. Now the Department is organizing another  International Conference on “Recent Advances in Industrial Electrochemical Science and Technology” during 5-7 November, 2009.

  * Specroelectrochemistry   * Electrochemical Engineering   * Electrochemical Sensors and Monitoring Techniques &  Electrokinetics

 

CALL FOR PAPERS:

Abstracts of research papers are invited for oral/poster presentations.  The abstract must be restricted to one page of A4 size.  The abstract shall contain the title of the paper, names of authors, institutional affiliation and address (including e-mail).  The name of the presenting author must be underlined and the corresponding author indicated by an asterisk.  Two hard copies of the abstract along with the registration form should be sent to the Chairman, ICRAIEST-2009, and a soft copy of the abstract in MS WORD formant as an e-mail attachment to bhatic_09@yahoo.com OR bhatij@yahoo.com on or before 15th July 2009. It is  planned to bring out the conference book  with the full papers  to be   presented. If the abstract and the full paper are not received  by deadline, it will not be possible for  to include  in the conference  book of  full papers.

Authors of all accepted abstracts will be informed by  July  20, 2009, through e-mail.  An individual may submit  two abstracts and may present only one  paper at the meeting but may appear as a co-author on other abstracts.  Please note that only the paper  submitted by those authors who paid the registration fees before August 20, 2009 will be included in the conference book of full papers.

 

 The Conference programme:

 

1.       Plenary/Invited lectures (45 minutes duration)

2.       Oral presentations (10 minutes)

3.       Poster presentations (90x100 cms)

4.       Exhibition of equipments/products

5.       Social and Cultural events for the participants and accompanying persons.

 Venue:  The Conference will be held in the Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri.  The University campus is situated about 20 km away from the Mangalore City.  The Campus is well connected from the International Airport, Bangalore (400 km), National Airport, Mangalore(40 km), Mangalore Railway Station-central or Junction (20 km) and Mangalore Bus Stand-KSRTC or Private Bus Stand (20 km).

 Accommodation: Limited Hostel/Guest house accommodation is available for both gents and ladies on the University Campus/ Shanthi Kiran Guest house in Mangalore:Rs.400 per person for the entire period of the conference( 4th Evening to 8th morning: single / double occupancy- Non A/C). Accommodation can be arranged in the City hotels on specific request.  Transport arrangements will be made to pick up the delegates from the city hotels. Those who are in need of Hotel accommodation are requested to make full payment (for the days required) in advance on or before 20th August, 2009. Arrangement of accommodation at the last minute is difficult.

 Weather:  During November normally the day temperature will be around 24-300C and night temperature will be around 20-250C.

Instructions for Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts typed in Microsoft Word rtf Windows version 6.0 onwards with one spacing in Times New Roman font size 10 with a 4cm margin on the left hand side along with one hard copy printed on one side of A4 size paper (strictly 4-5 pages) should be submitted to the Chairman ICRAIEST-2009on or before 20th August, 2009. The authors are also requested to submit their manuscript through e-mail as an attachment.

Authors are solely responsible for the contents of the manuscripts and the accuracy of the data therein. The text should be divided into following sections: Title (bold), Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Introduction, Experimental Section, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgements and References. Authors should also provide 3-5 key words, immediately after the abstract. Standard abbreviation for technical terms and references should be used. All constants should be expressed strictly in the SI units.

 Figures should be numbered with Roman numerals and mentioned consecutively in the text. References also should be numbered consecutively and these should appear in the text as superscripts at the appropriate place.
