Two Years (4 Semesters) a) The candidates who have passed the three year B.A. degree examination of this University with corresponding major/optional subject/s at the degree level, or an examination of any other University considered equivalent thereto are eligible for admission provided they have secured a minimum of 45% in the cognate subject or in Group II wherever cognate subject is not insisted upon. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST the minimum shall be 40%.


b)Candidates who have passed B.A.Ed. Degree examination (Regional College Scheme) of any University are eligible for admission to M.A. degree programme in the respective subject provided they have obtained not less than 45% marks in the concerned subject.

Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) Programme As per University Regulation Minimum Three Years and maximum five years  for full-time and minimum four years and maximum six years for part-time research A Candidate who has obtained a Master’s Degree from any University in the State or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate at the Master’s Degree Course as a whole shall be eligible to register for the Ph.D. Degree Programme. However, in the case of SC/St and the category-I candidates the minimum marks required shall be 50%.

1) SC/ST and Cat-I candidates whose income limits provide for reimbursement of fee

     shall pay only 50% of the fees prescribed above (i to iii).

2) For Foreign Nationals and Non-Resident Indians, the fee shall be four times the fee

     fixed for each of the above items.

3) Research candidates of Institutions Recognised by Mangalore University are

     exempted from the payment of laboratory fee and Computer Laboratory fee.
