1.A candidate who has passed
any Bachelors degree examination of Mangalore
University or any other degree examination
considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore
University, who satisfies any of the conditions
mentioned below is eligible for admission to the
programme.
2. 1.Graduate in Physical Education, i.e. B.P.E.
of three years/Graduate who had studied physical
education as optional/cognate subject at degree
level/any graduate having participated Country or
State or University in sports/games/athletics at
international/national/zonal competitions/any
graduate securing at least 40 percent of marks (35
percent of marks in case of SC/ST candidates)
having represented the college/district in games
/sports/ athletics at University intercollegiate/
PU Board inter collegiate/ state competitions/any
graduate with at least 45 percent of marks (40% of
marks in case of SC/ST candidates) possessing NCC
'C' certificate.
3. All the eligible candidates shall submit
fitness certificate issued by a Government Medical
Officer, along with their application.
4. Selection Procedure:
4.1. Candidates shall be selected on the basis of
merit, following the selection procedure and as
per the reservation norms/guidelines prevailing in
the University. Merit shall be decided on the
basis of candidate's performance in the entrance
tests. The marks allotted for academic
achievement, entrance test performance and sports
representation/achievements will be as follows:
(i) Academic performance (degree marks)- 40
percent of percentage of marks obtained.
(ii) Entrance test - 30 percent of marks
obtained in entrance tests.
(iii) Sports representation and achievements
- 30 marks maximum.
4.2 A. International level participation
(recognized by Indian Olympic Association):
Representing country or combined Indian
universities team 30 marks
B. National level participation: Representing the
state/combined universities team/All India Inter
University (Organized by recognized sports bodies
of the country).
First Position ... 25 marks
Second Position ... 20 marks
Third Position ... 15 marks
Participation only. 10 marks(For each additional
place won or representation 5 marks will be
awarded. However total marks shall not exceed 25
marks)
C. Zonal Inter University/ State level
participation: Representing a University/State
First Position ..... 20 marks
Second Position .....16 marks
Third Position ...... 12 marks
Participation only ......10 marks(For each
additional place won or representation 4 marks
will be awarded. However total marks shall not
exceed 20 marks)
D. University intercollegiate/PU board
intercollegiate/state participation: Representing
college/district (Organized by recognized sports
bodies of the state).
First Position ..... 12 marks
Second Position ..... 10 marks
Third Position ...... 08 marks
Participation only ...... 06 marks(For each
additional place won or representation 2 marks
will be awarded. However total marks shall not
exceed 12 marks)E. Marks for sport representation
and achievement will be considered at only one
level to the advantage of the candidate.
4.3 There shall be entrance tests for the eligible
candidates. The entrance tests shall include the
following test items:i) 100mts.run 15 marks.ii)
Shot put (7.25 kg for men and 4 kg for women) 15
marks.iii) Standing broad jump 15 marks.iv) 12
minutes (9 min. for women) walk & run 15 marks.v)
Performance in any two games/event 20 marks.vi)
Writtentest 10 marks.vii) General viva-voce 10
marks.
4.4 Merit shall be considered on the basis of
performance as stated in Para 1(4.1) above put
together and the seats shall be allotted as per
University norms/ guidelines issued from time to
time. |

1. A candidate who has passed B.P.Ed. degree
examination of Mangalore University or any other
University B.P.Ed. degree examination considered
as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University,
securing at least 50 per cent of marks. A
candidate who has passed B.P.E. degree examination
of three years duration securing at least 50
percent of marks.
2. Selection Procedure:
2.1 Candidates shall be selected on the basis of
merit, following the selection procedure and as
per the reservation norms/guidelines prevailing in
the University. Merit shall be decided on the
basis of candidate's performance in the entrance
tests. The marks allotted for academic
achievement, entrance test performance and sports
representation/achievements will be as follows:
(i) Academic performance (B.P.Ed. degree marks)-
60 percent of percentage of marks obtained.
(ii) Entrance test (Written test max. 20 marks) -
Marks obtained.
(iii) Sports representation and achievements - 20
marks maximum.
2.2 Criteria of awarding marks for sports
achievement/participation is as follows:
A. International level participation (recognized
by Indian Olympic Association):Representing
country or combined universities team 20 marks
B. National level participation: Representing the
state/combined universities team (Organized by
recognized sports bodies of the country).
First Position ..... 16 marks
Second Position ..... 14 marks
Third Position ..... 12 marks
Participation only .. 10 marks(For each additional
place won or representation 3 marks will be
awarded. However total marks shall not exceed 16
marks)
C. All India Inter University level participation:
Representing a University
First Position ...... 12 marks
Second Position ...... 10 marks
Third Position ...... 08 marks
Participation only.... 05 marks (For each
additional place won or representation 2 marks
will be awarded. However total marks shall not
exceed 12 marks)
D. University intercollegiate/state level
participation: Representing college/district
(Organized by recognized sports bodies of the
state).
First Position ...... 08 marks
Second Position ...... 06 marks
Third Position ...... 04 marks
Participation only.... 02 marks(For each
additional place won or representation 1 mark will
be awarded. However total marks shall not exceed 8
marks)
E. Marks for sport representation and achievement
will be considered at only one level to the
advantage of the candidate.
2.3 There shall be entrance tests for the eligible
candidates. The entrance tests shall include
objective written test of maximum 20 marks.
2.4 Merit shall be considered on the basis of
performance as stated in Para 1 above put together
and the seats shall be allotted as per University
norms/ guidelines issued from time to time.
