Course Intake Duration Eligibility
M.C.J. (CBCS) General Merit-16 and Partial self financing category-08 Two Years a) The candidates who have passed any bachelor’s degree of this University or any bachelor’s degree from other Universities recognized as equivalent there to with a minimum 45% marks (for SC and ST candidates 40%) are eligible for admission to the M.J (Mass Communication) Course.
b) The selection will be made on the basis of merit obtained in:
1. 50% of marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination.
2. 50% marks obtained in the entrance examination consisting of a written test (90 marks) and an interview (10 marks).
3. Candidates who have applied shall appear for an entrance examination which includes a written test and an interview. The entrance examination consists of two parts for a total of 100 marks. First part A-the written test consisting of question on general knowledge, current affairs and mass media (both objective and essay type)-90 marks. Second Part B-interview (10 marks)

Ph.D. As per University Regulation Two/Three Years and maximum five/six years for full-time and part-time research respectively. Second class Master's degree (Minimum 55%) in the subject/allied subject.

Facilities Available

 

The department has well equipped Computer Laboratory, audio-visual facilities including digital television camera and non-linear editing video cassette recorder, dark room facility for photo processing and teleprinter service.

A Separate Computer Laboratory and a TV Studio with Softwares such as Adobe Premiere Audition, AVID, FCP Studio and SPSS.

The department is supported by the UGC under Special Assistance Programme (SAP). Under DSR (II) for the Eleventh Plan period.
