Course Details:

Earth Science is an integrated , synoptic study of the solid earth, atmosphere and oceans and the interactions among them. The major themes of R & D programs are aimed at earth resources and management studies using modern tools and techniques of Geochemistry, Geophysics, Remote Sensing, GIS and Information Sciences. The above mentioned P.G. Course was started keeping in view of placement in Government and Private Organisations, the expertise and infrastructures available in the University and Department of Marine Geology.

The course is open to all science, Agriculture, Civil & Mining Engineering graduates. The main aim and objectives of this innovative course is to train young graduates in resource assessment evaluation, planning and management techniques and conservation practices for sustainable development of natural resources and better environment. The Course curriculum is prepared to suit the need of the day and is also compatible with similar courses offered in many countries Viz. U.K., Australia, united States of America and South Africa. The course contents include exotic subjects like Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Landuse and Land cover, planning, evaluation and development. Geo-informatics, Resource exploration, Geophysics and Geochemistry, Surveying, Climatology, Training in Waste and Natural Geo-hazard management and mitigation in addition to teaching in earth science. The Students who undergo this training have a wide range of area to choose their career. Students can get absorbed in several Governmental Organisations, Private enterprises and also get jobs in National Institutes and Private Consultancies. It provides self employment opportunities in IT, Agriculture, Industrial and Rural Development Sectors including Multi National Companies.
