Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Biosciences shall have
studied any two of the following subjects - Botany, Zoology,
Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmacognosy and Environmental
Science as optional/major/special subjects and also studied
Chemistry/Biochemistry as optional/major/special subject at the
under graduate level. |

Candidates shall have studied any branch of Life Sciences with
Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the major/optional/subsidiary
subjects securing 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in
the aggregate excluding languages at the undergraduate level.
Selection of candidates shall be on merit cum reservation on the
basis of 60:40 weightage for marks of entrance examination and
qualifying examination respectively. The procedure for the
entrance examination as prescribed by the University Syndicate.

and Visible Spectrophotometers, Nano-drop spectrophotometer,
Microscope with image analyzer, Fluorescent microscope, Nikon
Research microscope with camera attachment, Inverted
Microscope, BOD incubator, Gas Chromatograph, Cold
Centrifuges, Micro Centrifuges, , Lyophilizer, Flame
photometer. PCR unit, Gel doc., Electrophoresis units, Shaker
incubator, ELISA reader, Deep freezer. Muffle furnace, micro-Kjeldahl
distillation unit, Deionizer distillation unit. Animal and
plant cell culture laboratories, Animal house, Drosophila
culture laboratory. Facilities for aquaria and microbial
culture collection. DST-FIST assisted Computer Laboratory for
Bioinformatics and Biometrics and General Instrumentation
Laboratory. Most of the faculty members are Recognized Guides
for supervising research students leading to obtain Ph.D.

Cold Centrifuges, Micro Centrifuges, UV Visible Spectrophotometer,
Lyophilizer and Flame photometers have been used extensively to
carry out the research. Facilities for animal cell culture,
rearing the experimental animals, aquaria and microbial culture
collection facilities are also available. DST-FIST assisted
Computer Laboratory facilities for Bioinformatics and General
Instrumentation Laboratory have been established. Most of the
faculty members are recognized guides for guiding research
students leading to Ph.D. degree. |
