Student Achievements

Ms Nishitha Puttur secured first prize in the Inter-university classical dance competition held at Bhandarkars College and secured first prize in the south zonal level Inter University dance competition organized by A I U ( Association of Indian Universities), held at Sathyabhama University, Chennai.Represented Mangalore University in the National Youth festival organized by A I U held at R T M University, Nagpur, Maharashtra and secured fourth place in the classical dance competition. She has also secured first prize in the district, Zonal and State level dance competitions held by the Department of Kannada and Culture, Govt. of Karnataka.

Ms.Artha Perla,Final year M.A. English student, has passed the BharathanatyamVidwath (pre) Examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board in the year 2014-15 with Distinction (89%).Also, she has been selected as ‘B’ grade artiste of Doordarshan, Bengaluru in the recently conducted audition test and placed  in their panel for regular programmes.

Ms.Megha R. Devadiga, Final Year MA English student, has secured 86% marks in BharathanatyamVidwath (pre) Examination with Distinction conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board in the year 2014-15.

Over the years, the Department has organized several annual ELT workshops and 5 UGC Refresher courses, besides one national conference, one national workshop, and one international conference, in addition to a number of special lectures, including by international scholars.
