M.Sc. (Physics)

82 Two Years (4 Semesters)

(i) M.Sc (Physics) Programme, under CBCS scheme, comprises “Core” and “Elective” subjects with a total credit of 92 including open electives.

The elective papers of the program are:

1. Condensed Matter Physics

2. Electronics

3. Nuclear Physics

M.Sc. (Medical Physics)

14 Two Years (4 Semesters)  

Ph.D. Physics

As per University Regulation Minimum Three/Four Years and Maximum Five/Six years for full-time and part-time research respectively.

Eligibility for all the programs

 

Master of Science in Physics

Candidates with BSc Degree of Mangalore University or any other university considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as major / optional / special subject are eligible for the program provided they have studied Mathematics as optional / special / minor / subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured minimum of 45 % (40% for SC / ST / Category – I candidates) marks both in Physics and Mathematics.

 

Master of Science in Medical Physics

Candidates who have passed three-year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Mathematics as major/optional/special/minor / subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured a minimum of 65% (60% for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates) marks in Physics.
